Hi everyone, this is my take on Colin Farrell likeness (2000s) and the result of a real-time study. My goal was to achieve a quality level similar to offline renders within a real-time environment, while focusing on optimization.
I followed Sefki Ibrahim's course, which helped me immensely in gaining confidence with UE5. This was also my first project where I created base textures using photogrammetry photoshoot kindly provided by the Triplegangers team. Starting with only the albedo information, I processed it to generate displacement and normal maps. After establishing this texture base, I've filled the gaps with texturingxyz data and I added a manual painting pass to better capture the specific facial features of the likeness.
The character is fully rendered in UE5. I used ZBrush for sculpting, Houdini and GroomBear for the grooming, and ZWrap for the detail transfer and topology wrapping. The clothing was created in Marvelous Designer and textured in Substance Painter.
